THOMAS_FREDERICK//HAIR_DESIGN was founded in 2015 by Steve Metcalfe.
After beginning his career as a colour technician with Toni&Guy, working in their Aylesbury, Sutton Coldfield and Milton Keynes salons he decided to return to York in the early 2000s.
Steve named the salon after his grandfather Thomas Frederick Stanley otherwise known as Fred.
“I’ve wanted my own salon for a long time and it seemed appropriate to name it after my granddad as my grandparents were very supportive and always wanted me to have my own shop.”
We offer a wide range of services at Thomas Frederick and also have our dedicated mens stylist
